This is the last week of our inline skating residency. Thank-you to our Parent Society for raising funds through our casino so all students have the opportunity to learn to inline skate! Thank-you also to all the volunteers who have assisted with the equipment and lessons!

Regular gym classes will continue to be held outside or in the classrooms this week. Please make sure you dress for the weather. The grade 4 and 5 classes will be snowshoeing over the next couple of weeks if the snow remains and temperatures cooperate.

Students have also been hiking on the paths around our community during Gym. We are learning proper etiquette (e.g., staying on the path, moving to one side when we meet others) during our hikes.

Being active and getting some fresh air!

Learning different combinations and techniques for speeding stacking, such as, the 3-3-3, 3-6-3, 6-6, and the cycle.

Inline Skating Residency
It is exciting to see the progress students have made even after one or two sessions of inline skating! Depending on their comfortable level and ability, students have been learning how to stand-up, stop, fall safely, skate and do cross-overs.

Thank-you to our volunteers who have been assisting the inline skating classes with their equipment and lessons!

We have also been learning to speed stack in our classrooms while the gym is in use. Speed stacking is an excellent activity for developing hand-eye coordination.

Here is quick video which introduces speed stacking:
